ARTICLE VIII
POLICES AND PROCEDURES

I. Establishment of Teams

A. In House: Teams are to be determined each season (fall - outdoor, winter - indoor, and spring - outdoor) using the following criteria:

1. A meeting of the coaches for each age group shall take place no later than two weeks prior to the beginning of the season.

2. The coaches will take turns selecting players for the teams from the available registered players, based on the player's perceived ability and other factors.

3. After the teams have been established, the teams shall be assigned to a coach by means of random selection. Teams shall be put into a hat and each coach will in turn pick their team out of the hat. (It is recognized that the coach's child shall remain with his/her parent/coach. In the event that the coach has more than one child, it shall be decided at the time immediately after team assignments, what "trade" will occur to accommodate the situation.)

4. It is the intention of the in-house program to field teams that overall have equal talent and skills. This should be accomplished using the system described above because each coach will, in essence, be selecting the opposing teams. The assumption is that no coach would make another team any "stronger" than need be, since these teams will be the "opposition".

B. Traveling: Traveling rosters/teams shall be established using the following criteria:

1.Since it is the objective of the traveling program to be competitive with surrounding areas, provide an atmosphere for learning and growing in the game of soccer and to maintain continuity in development, the club shall strive to keep groups together that have historically played well together. It shall be the responsibility of the Traveling Commissioner, Coaches and the Board of Directors to assure that every player has an opportunity to participate and that rosters are filled if enough available players in a given age group are available.

II. Selection of Tournament Teams:

A. IN HOUSE Tournament teams from the in-house program shall have representatives from each in-house team using the following criteria:

Each team coach shall choose two players from each of the other teams in the age group, except from that coach's team. The players with the most coach votes shall be picked for the tournament team
