- The players should first attempt to touch the ball off their laces. This will require their toes pointer, knee bent, and controlled balance touch off their laces. Demonstrate this techniques and have the players try it. If there is some degree of success, then have them try doing it with their non dominate foot.
- Next have the players do a similar touch of the ball out of the air. Only this time, have them use the inside of their foot. Demonstrate this technique and have the players try it as well. Again, after some degree of success, extend this technique to their other foot.
- For particularly well coordinated players, you may want to challenge them with an out of the air touch with the outside of the foot.
- First start with touches out of the air using the foot as above. The first set of services should be out of the air, touched up with the laces of their foot, and caught. The receiver on becomes the new server.
- Repeat the above with the inside of the foot touch out of the air.
- DEMONSTRATION: Have one of the players serve a ball up for the coach to demonstrate an "elevator" trap with the laces of the foot. This is where the ball is "caught" out of the air and lowered to the ground. Have the players attempt to do this type of trap. The technique will be challenging to the players. Do not try to correct technique. We are only trying to introduce and expose the players to this. Challenge them to try it for themselves and give your attention to all the players that try to show you with a "Watch me, Coach!".
- DEMONSTRATION: If the above technique had some degree of success, demonstrate an "elevator" trap with the inside of the foot. This is where the ball is "caught" out of the air and lowered to the ground with the inside of the foot. Again, have the children attempt to do this from air balls served up from their partner as above.

The team in possession of the ball attempts to score on their goal. However, each time a ball hits the ground in the moat area, it must be picked up by the moat player and served to a player on the opposite team with an air ball. This is not to say the player cannot attempt to pass over the moat. In fact, the coach should attempt to adjust the moat size in order to encourage this.
In any case, there is a large number of air balls in this
game either played with a long pass over the moat, or served up in the air by
the moat players. The players can also attempt to go around the moat on
the sides. The usual soccer scoring applies.
You may do this a second time with the laces of the foot or you may choose to do the side of the foot.
